These are gorgeous! A number of years ago, I spent some time in Vail in fall, and one of my fondest memories is that of the golden aspens. Thanks for bringing that memory back again.

In one winter of the late 60’s, Jim and Jean Burger and Dick and I spent a week in a no-tell motel in Basalt, because we could not afford to stay any closer to Aspen. We skied every day in Aspen, and then repaired to our rooms to meet up and make hot ciders with rum in the same electric skillet in which we had ( illegally) cooked our bacon for the morning! We did one meal out a day- a cheap, hearty dinner at the Wagon Wheel. I wonder if it is still there? Love that little town, only a crossroads then.

    Also, love your Blog, Susan!
